About the Event

With the increasing focus on social value and the mandatory commitment to meet scoring of social value demands following the publication of the Public Procurement Note 01/21 (PPN01/21) and PPN 02/21, Social Enterprise NI have organised this half day event to get social enterprises, private and public sector organisations together in the room.

  • There will be a chance to hear from some organisations who are already working partnership across the social enterprise and private sector.
  • An update from the Department of Finance of where social value scoring sits within procurement and any future plans to increase scoring.
  • Then we have our Keynote Speaker Chris White, the author of the Public Services (Social Value Act) 2012 on the learnings from the UK on having full legislation for social value and the benefits it has brought to the country.

We hope you will come along and start to form partnerships with other sectors.

Free parking on site.

Chris White's Bio

Chris is a former British Conservative Party politician and was the Member of Parliament for Warwick and Leamington from 2010 to 2017. He is currently Director of the Institute for Industrial Strategy at King's College London but was the proposer of the Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012 in 2010 as a private member's bill, aiming to ensure that public sector procurement should take into account the wider concept of social value. The bill, which purported to help social enterprises win more public services contracts, was supported by the government and became law in 2013 following which he was subsequently named as a "Social Value Ambassador" by the government.
