Social Enterprise NI announces new “WISE” Podcast series - sponsored by idverde

Social Enterprise NI is delighted to announce the launch of a brand-new podcast series named “What is Social Enterprise?” (#WISE).

The new digital platform will be used to profile the inspirational nature of the organisations within the social enterprise sector and highlight how an organisation marries managing their social mission alongside how they operate their business and making a profit with the various challenges that this presents.

Social Enterprise NI is delighted to announce that the podcast series will be sponsored by idverde, a multi-national company operating in NI who have come to recognise and appreciate the value of bringing social enterprises into their supply chain and the added value that this creates.

Stuart Dillett, Managing Director for idverde commented;” We are the UK & Europe's leading provider of grounds maintenance and landscape creation services. We create, maintain & manage landscapes, but we also pride ourselves on community engagement and working alongside local communities and social enterprises to raise the profile of the local areas in which we have a presence. We love the positive work that Social Enterprise NI do and when they mentioned a podcast series we couldn't wait to get involved and support their amazing work.”

Colin Jess, Director of Social Enterprise NI Director welcomed the news of the new podcast and said “Social Enterprise NI is delighted to announce the next stage in the organisation’s development by the launch of our new podcast sponsored by our latest Corporate member, idverde. Over the past 15 months, Social Enterprise NI has been seamlessly delivering all our activities digitally to its members and stakeholders. This has proved extremely popular, and our reach has increased dramatically. This coupled with a desire to profile “What is a Social Enterprise?” to a wider audience, has led us to this initiative”.

Each podcast will be hosted by Social Enterprise NI Ambassador Cate Conway and will feature Cate in discussion with our members as they tell their story, explain their focus on operating as a business and how that delivers real change by reinvesting their profits into societies toughest issues, e.g., homelessness, human trafficking, domestic violence, children in care etc. We hope that no matter what sector you belong to, private, public, educational or government department, that you will enjoy these conversations and come to understand and support the sector and get to know exactly what a social enterprise is.”

To launch the podcast, we are starting with a bonus episode, Cate will be chatting to Stuart Dillett, Managing Director - Scotland and North Region, idverde. The first in the series however starts on Wed 2nd June running for 10 consecutive weeks and we will hear from the first of our Social Enterprise NI members as Cate chats to Marie Marin CEO of Employers For Childcare, the most recent winner of the title “Social Enterprise of the Year.”

You can listen to the podcast on Spotify and Anchor, with more platforms coming soon or via our website.
